The artist book addresses both women and men, and highlights nine recurring themes in the artist's body of work. These include Nathalie Pirotte’s interest in the human body, particularly the skin and the mythological figure of Daphne. The book also discusses the artist's fondness for the color rose, the creation of effigies, the concept of female identity, and the classic idea of mimesis. The selected paintings emphasize the versatility of Nathalie Pirotte's pictorial oeuvre, her continuous research and approach to the contemporary female subject. It is not the intention of this artist's book to provide a comprehensive overview of the artist's oeuvre. Instead, it offers an anthology of her consistent painterly oeuvre and insight into her artistic thoughts by accompanying texts on each theme. The extensive oeuvre of the artist demonstrates that painting remains a flourishing and vibrant language, subtly reflecting the representation of women through the eyes of a female artist.
