As part of its ongoing program, Husk Gallery supports artists with publications. This exhibition catalogue is published on the occasion of 'Facing the Desert'’, the second solo show of Inge H. Schmidt from January 15th to March 4th, 2023 at the Brussels-based contemporary art gallery.
This catalogue highlights Inge H. Schmidt’s American desertscapes created during her travel to Arizona and Utah in 1995 and her journeys to the Chihuahua desert in 2012 and 2014. The Desert series is part of her extensive oeuvre which regularly features the landscape genre as a result of her travels to distant lands.
The exhibition catalogue includes an introduction and interview with Inge H. Schmidt by Ingrid Van Hecke - an art historian and director of Husk Gallery. The artist’s interview gives further insight into Inge H. Schmidt’s life, artistic vision and career.
