Husk Gallery is delighted to present 'Thiasos', the thematic exhibition of Belgian artist Peter Depelchin in its gallery space.
The show ‘Thiasos’ by the Belgian artist Peter Depelchin (b1985, Ostend but currently living and working in New York) features a fine selection of his masked figures realized between 2013 and 2023. Even though drawing is his preferred discipline, other art forms take part of the artistic process in a most organic way. They are part of his Dionysian dance, his theatrical Thiasos. In Greek myth, the Thiasos was the eccentric and ecstatic band of the god Dionysos' followers. The focus of this show mostly lies on Depelchin's hybrid characters and the infinite expressions of the grotesque face.
Opening Sunday 14 January 2024 from 2 to 7pm
Finissage Saturday 24 February 2024 from 2 to 6pm
At Husk Gallery Peter Depelchin's show will be presented along with the exhibition ‘The Fifth season’ by the French artist Céline Marin (b1986). Both artists are born in the mid-eighties. Their artworks witness of their meticulous artistic practice and research. The selected artworks for this double exhibition share a specific focus on the theme of theatrical masquerade.
