Murmure Suo is part of the Hortus Conclusus series. This series has been in progress since 2015 and contains 6 drawings on Chinese silk paper so far. Each drawing shows a metaphysical theater setting - an enclosed garden - housing a narrative. The immersive experience of living in three different cities (Rome - New York - Brussels) the last couple of years, is of great influence to these drawings of Peter Depelchin. The long creation process of each drawing permit the artist to elaborate the background, to organize life model sessions in order to adjust the draft bodies and to add contemporary details. Among the fact that both drawings show enclosed gardens in a strict sense, they are legible in a multitude of ways. Evidently, they are both impressions of the artist's intimate dialogue with his perceptions, but they also comment contemporary society. In that sense Depelchin proofs to be a contemporary symbolist touching several layers of human experience.
